Access Guide Canada - Get Involved!
ONLINE CHATS
Travel can be a truly positive, life-changing experience - or a nightmare, if things do not unfold as expected - especially if you have a disability! Planning has everything to do with success. On October 8, many people logged on to EnableLink’s Travel/Transportation chat room to give and receive travel tips. Thanks to all of our chat participants. If you weren’t there, it’s not too late for you to benefit from EnableLink’s online travel resource. Just go to www.enablelink.org, select "Travel/Transportation" from the menu on the left and check out the information in the drop-down menu. Feel free to use the message board to exchange news and views with other visitors - or plan to meet your friends and colleagues in the chat room to compare travel notes in real time!

THE ENABLELINKER
If you would like chat room events and a host of other disability-related information e-mailed to you on a monthly basis, sign up for the EnableLinker, CAF’s online electronic newsletter.

It’s easy! Just send a blank e-mail to sub@enablelink.org. The current issue will be sent to you.

ACCESS GUIDE CANADA - GET INVOLVED!
Here’s something to celebrate! As of today, you have a new opportunity to share information on accessible resources with others with disabilities, and their families.

We invite you to use Access Guide Canada to make life easier for travellers and local residents - while, at the same time, giving much-deserved recognition to businesses that are making their services accessible to everybody!

We are asking everyone - especially you - to help us build a resource of incredible value to all Canadian with disabilities. Submit information to Access Guide Canada about the accessible restaurants, hotels, parks, shops, services and attractions you come across. Help build a pool of resources to which we all contribute - and from which we all can draw when planning our travels.

It’s easy! Simply go to www.enablelink.org/agc and use one of the "Add A Listing" buttons located throughout the site. Once you create a free account for yourself, you will be able to quickly add your favourite business or service.

You can also download and print assessment forms to help you follow up later with more detail. When you come back to the site, you can always edit your own additions.

There are many benefits to contributing to Access Guide Canada:

- You can make sure your community is represented.
- You can add listings whenever you like, on your own timetable!
- You can highlight the businesses and services that you feel do a great job serving people with disabilities and should be recognized.
- You can choose to subscribe our EnableLinker electronic newsletter - right when you sign up!
- You can receive great prizes for being part of a valuable resource - stay tuned for details!

For every assessment you add to Access Guide Canada, there is a person with a disability who will feel welcome to vacation or do business in your community! Working together, we can make Canada the best possible place for a person with a disability to live and visit.

Hundreds of volunteers, business owners, resource managers and consumers with disabilities have already contributed to this list. Find out more about the places you wish to visit - and the community in which you live. Check it out today! www.enablelink.org/agc
