Dialogue on Belonging

Friday, December 1st - 1 – 4 pm Langara College Room A218, 100 West 49 Avenue, Vancouver, BC

Is the yearning to 'belong' what unites all humans?

How can we prevent social and rehabilitation services from supplanting genuine relationships?

What are the elements of a good life?

Join us in an exploration of these questions in a dialogue led by Brian Smith, National Coordinator of The Belonging Initiative. The Belonging Initiative is a national collaboration whose goal is to nurture belonging and end isolation of persons with disabilities. The Belonging Initiative is guided by a fundamental belief in the importance of human connections and the possibilities for mutual enrichment that arise through such connections. “We have a passionate sense that collectively we can develop a groundswell that will lead to a society in which everyone belongs!”

This is one in a series of Dialogues on Community Development Practice Challenges, sponsored by Langara College Continuing Studies. For further information contact Leslie Kemp, Program Coordinator, Community Development, at 604-323-5981.

No charge but please register by calling 604-323-5322 (CRN 70700)
