Model In Designer Showcase

On March 23, Randy Upper became the first runway model with a disability to be featured in the Matinee Fashion Foundation’s designer showcase. Upper, 30, displayed two outfits designed by Dominic Bellissimo as he made his runway debut in his wheelchair.

Upper is a client of the Susan Charness Talent agency, a Toronto-based agency that represents models and actors with disabilities. He has modeled for catalogues and appeared on TV’s Body Break. He is also married with a baby daughter.

"Models always worry about tripping on the runway," Upper comments. "I worry about falling off my chair."

Susan Charness Talent can be reached at (416) 661-6060.
